🥺❤️‍🩹

So sehr wir das Leben hier in Australien lieben und die Zeit in vollen Zügen genießen – es gibt eine Schattenseite, über die beim Leben im Ausland viel zu selten gesprochen wird:

Wie sehr man seine Liebsten vermisst.
Und wie sich jeder Besuch zuhause auch immer ein bisschen wie ein neuer Abschied anfühlt.

Natürlich sagen viele: „Man kann sich doch besuchen.“ Und ja – das ist ein Trost.
Aber nicht jeder kann solche langen Reisen noch machen – so wie mein Vater zum Beispiel. Für ihn ist die Entfernung mittlerweile eine echte Hürde aufgrund des Alters. Und das macht es umso schwerer.

Was man auf dieser Reise aber auch lernt:
Wer wirklich bleibt – trotz Distanz.
Denn wahre Freundschaft kennt keine Entfernung. Sie zeigt sich darin, wer sich meldet, wer Interesse zeigt, wer sogar den Weg auf sich nimmt, um einen zu besuchen.

Und selbst wenn man sich nicht ständig hört – das ist völlig normal – fühlt sich ein Wiedersehen nach Monaten an, als wäre keine Zeit vergangen. Alleine das ist ein echter Erfahrungsgewinn für uns.

Einer meiner schönsten Momente für mich war der Besuch meiner Schwester letztes Jahr in den USA. Diese Tage waren intensiver als jede gemeinsame Zeit davor – und sie haben uns noch enger zusammengeschweißt.

Und während ich das schreibe merke ich auch wieder hier, dass Trotz aller Sehnsucht:
Man kann selbst der Entfernung auch etwas Positives abgewinnen. Es ist immer eine Frage der Perspektive.
